Honey, Where Are the Bees?

I was watching Bill Maher last night, and in his ending monologue he used the attributed Albert Einstein quote:

If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left.

He then stated that bees are disappearing all over the place, mainly because of cell phone signals interfering with a bee’s ability to navigate.

Sounds weird.  Sounds almost fake.

Until I realized I haven’t seen a bee in my yard for at least three years.  When I was seven or eight I saw them all over the place.

But, then again, I was half as tall as I am now and I would probably have a memory that is a little exaggerated…

Like a good geek, I turned to the Intarweb.

Spaghetti Head

I used to think of this as a function of stupid people, or at least ignorant/uneducated people.  At the very least, people lacking willpower.

Learning About WordPress Themes

Themes in WordPress are a new world…   Just in changing the color scheme and killing the images has taken me since 17:00 today.  I’m not sure I like it yet, but the clean white and blue look of Kubrick was beginning to bug me.  I wear black, I’d write on black paper if I could find my white gel pen, so why does my website look like a freakin’ apple store interior?

I’m kidding Steve!!!  Please don’t hate me, or blacklist me!!!  I love your products!!!

Well, now it doesn’t.  Hopefully I’ll find a theme chooser and have a reason for making multiple themes again.

The Biggest Barrier to Blogging

I keep sitting in front of this screen, looking at the blinking cursor, trying to make a blog post, trying to write something that will change life or allow for re-discovery of the self, or something else shattering.  I’ve been trying too hard.

I was reading about the biggest barrier to blogging is being stopped.  I’d link to it, but I didn’t bookmark the page and it was from one of those random “best links of the day” pages.  Whether it’s because of the tool that you blog with or something interrupts, it doesn’t matter.  It ends up that the post gets stopped and thus blogging is stopped.

Joining the Blogswarm Against Theocracy

I am posting this in support of the blogswarm against Theocracy.

I do not think that religion and government can be mixed without the governing individuals making mistakes and people suffering.  Much as a monarchy cannot reliably guard the individual rights of citizens, a theocracy diminishes the individual’s right to do “good” by making “evil” illegal.  People should have more options than sheep.  The first part of this post is the “heavy shit”, then is the “practical shit”.
