There Is Clearly a Need for This:

I mean, really.  (Many thanks to xkcd.com for allowing hot-linking.  Click it to read more.)

Skåll!!!

The Election Is Finally Over.

I watched CNBC all day yesterday, seeing stock up all over the place because investors were anticipating the end of the smear ads and compaigning.  The talking heads all seemed like they were holding their breath, eager for today.

After the day’s stock market watch, we switched over to BBC America and watched the results come in.  I couldn’t even think during the whole evening.  I just sat watching as the states results were called.  It astounded me how FOX News started calling results for Obama earlier than ABC, NBC, or CBS.  The british talking head kept saying “We can’t accept that!  The votes haven’t been fully counted yet!  We aren’t even at a majority!  They’re giving that one up early, aren’t they?”

I found it amusing, the anglo perspective on our political process.  Some day I’ll have to find out how their process works to be able to compare it.  Meh, someday.

Oh Gawd, Please End the Politics Already!

I don’t know if I’ll make it until November 4th.  At least, not outside of prison.

It’s really getting on my nerves.  Everywhere I go, people are talking about McCain or Obama, Biden or Palin.  Or Pawlenty, or Franken, or…  About all that crap that I really have had it up to my ears with.  And still their gums are flapping about it.

Every Few Weeks It Happens Again

Maybe it’s the fact that it’s a corporate world, or maybe it’s a desperation of people trying to pay rising bills in a world that doesn’t care, or maybe I’m just in a weird phase of my life where the stupid people are attracted to me like iron to a magnet, but every few weeks now it just gets to me — people’s stupid demands.  Cries that I can’t do this, I need to do that, why don’t I do something about that, why did I let that person fail…

Disclaimer: this blog post, like many before it, will be vague on specifics of names, places, or specific timeframes.  I have to protect the guilty, because I can’t afford a lawyer or deal with the mindnumbing frustration and pointless anger that a lawsuit would bring upon me.  So please fill in the names with your favorite enemies if you really need names.

Oh, wait — Disclaimer number two: I’m taking the opposite side of many popular opinions amongst some valued friends, or even my own opinion in some cases.  It’s called drawing out the discussion.  I get any hateful words about it and I’ll cheerfully delete your e-mail.  Then I’ll go outside and enjoy the day, knowing that the hateful words came from another idiot.  Then I’ll have one more person to avoid like the plague.

Back to the post.

I hate entitled people.  No — hate isn’t a strong enough word.  I loathe their smug requests for attention, or money, or fairness, or some god-given right.

Khoo-Khee, Khoo-Khee

When everything feels so firmly planted in the thunderbucket lately you feel like there’s no way to climb out, (read: politics, gas prices, politics, cost of living, politics, stock prices, politics, housing market, neverending politics etc.) how can we make sure to take that left turn at Albuquerque?

Since this blog is about me, here’s my perspective: I work at a bank and I see everyone leaking a little brain-juice from the ears over all the above listed crap.  It’s a low-level constant worry: the fear that cuts will have to be made, and that one of those cuts will be you.

I just can’t stand around and watch everyone going insane in the most subtle of ways.  I feel it’s my duty to do what I can to buoy morale.

So I got a Darth Vader helmet.

Well, there’s more to this story than just that.
