Wacom e-mailed me the other day about their new products.  I’m not sure why I check e-mail.

For those who do not know Wacom, they make the most amazing tablets for computer drawing.  The pens are smooth and comfortable, the tablets are slim and comfortable, the mice fit you perfectly, and the cursor response is almost psychic in the way reads and responds to what you want…  Well, after you use a Wacom tablet you cannot use another brand’s product for the rest of your life.  It ruins you for anything else; all other products feel substandard, choppy, cheap and dirty.

Well, there are no real competitors left anymore, that’s how good they are.

It’s been almost eight years since I bought my last tablet, and probably ten since my first, so I figured it might be worth a peek.  I clicked on the e-mail and started reading.

First mistake: do not read an e-mail from a company that makes products that you can only describe in the same manner as you would describe your first enjoyable sexual encounter.

They’ve got a new tablet!  A new freakin’ tablet!

I couldn’t help but read the rest of the e-mail; they have deals available if you buy the new tablet and buy Painter…  Just click…

Second mistake: never click the link titled Read more > in an e-mail sent to you by the maker of a product you already like.  Especially if you still harbor a secret desire to get back into artistic endeavors, and you do have a little skill left in ya.

Wacom’s site has had a bit of a makeover.  I mean, check out their page for the Intuos 4 here.

Then I noticed they have the price on the upper right side of the product page.

At least can’t afford it, or I could’ve made a Third mistake: clicking the Add to cart button.  Thank goodness for that small favor.

Well, as long as I was here already, might as well browse around a bit.

That’s when I discovered they still have this guy out there:

(Cintiq 21UX page here.)

Real third mistake: poking around on a site that you know you shouldn’t be on, since you have a crush on the manufacturer’s products.

Ooh.  To have the monitor and tablet built into one!

Well, I could get a tablet PC/laptop…  Oh, wait, it wouldn’t be a Wacom with the pen and stuff!  I mean, the nibs flex and give to simulate the real thing!

…I think I need a moment.  A cold shower, too…

So yeah.  I want one of those.   Bad.

Damn e-mails.  I shouldn’t check them anymore.

;)

Have fun, readers.

Skåll!!!
