Doo-DOO-Doo, DOO-Doo-Doooo…

Thank Gawd for small favors. I’m not a fan of most American TV, it never really has struck me as producing anything thought-provoking or even mentally perturbing. The cable stations sometimes manage to make something interesting once and a while, but then it’s usually a one-off and they play and re-play it three times a day until I just wanna barf.

Last night outta frustration with crappy American TV, Dad switched the station to BBC America and there’s the new series of the Doctor!!! Damn, I forgot, it’s the premiere!

“Just gotta focus the radiation… *ungh, urgh, ungh* There! In the left shoe…” *tosses left shoe into the bin, complete with sock* “There!”

“You’re insane!”

“You’re right, I look like a git with only one shoe!” *tosses other shoe into the bin*

Fed Loans… Shoulda’ Been Posted Wednesday…

Last payday, Friday the eighteenth, I had $50 due on my Federal Student Loan.  $2K on one and $11.53 on the other.

So I paid $60.00 thinking it would pay off one debt.  I even did a happy dance, thinking I had one more debt paid off.

On Wednesday I checked the balance and it was $5.38.  The amount due on that loan in February was $5.36.

So even if I pay the entire amount due, there’s a distinct chance that I will still owe $0.02 on that damn loan…

It’s Gotten to Me…

The “Under-Construction” message on the parent site for my blog, www.feesl.com, has finally gotten to me. I jokingly put the image and date there waiting to hear some sort of criticism or even ribbing response, but since I put it up 2006 August 27, I have heard nothing.

Zip. Nada.

In a year and four-point-five months.

Zero. Zilch.

Either I’m above reproach, (which means some people need to grow balls,) or no one cares.

Since viewing either choice as a question means answers that I don’t wanna hear, I decided to treat both as possibilities and ignore both possibilities.  That left me with the reason I bought this domain in the 90′s: to provide a website for my family members; secure, private, and for free.   With message board or forum, family calendar for scheduling reunions, sending announcements, an interactive/user changeable genealogy resource, user blogs, and mebbie e-mail accounts.

And I’m going to go at it with the “Field of Dreams” approach — if you build it, they will come.

Great idea, huh? Now just where the aytch-eee-double-hockey-stick does one start to figure this out? After the “read-more” link you’ll be subjected to some rambling on the topic.

It’s Really Hard When You’re 300% Wrong

Another tick added to the year’s number. Surprisingly, I have had no difficulty in adapting to writing “2008″ on checks or on documents — the first time in my life, to my memory.

But this New Year brought a new review of my life, completely unwanted by myself.

Hence the title. Of course, many will say “Why are you being so harsh on yourself…” But I don’t deal with niceties, never really have.

The road to Hell is, after all, paved in gold. I fully believe it’s also air-conditioned and has free snack-bars and sleep-stops all along the way.
